Description

Uju Management Services seeks to appoint an experienced Client Liaison Officers to lead stakeholder engagement and community relations for various Enel Green Power / Client project locations across South Africa. Each CLO will be responsible for building, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with government institutions, municipalities, project-affected communities, and indigenous groups. Facilitate stakeholder engagement processes that balance community needs with the company’s operational goals and objectives, while fostering transparent and trust-based relationships throughout the project lifecycle. 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development by facilitating effective communication, managing grievances, and providing oversight on community projects. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  1. Project Management 
  • Identify projects for funding, and support in collating information for vetting applicants 
  • Maintain a database of applicants and beneficiaries in the programs managed by the Solar Wind Farm
  • Support EnD/SED Implementation agents in communicating and coordinating implementation services 
  • Frequently conduct site visits and monitoring on project funded by Solar Wind Farm, documenting issues, risks, highlights and make recommendations on project management
  • Continuously collate information about community needs across various sources and groups and profile needs for input in our ED Plan and quarterly projects implementation
  • Collate data on funded projects performance for input into various management reports and IPPO reports
  • Create summary and analysis of stakeholder activities, outlining frequency of engagements, common issues raised by them, sources of issues and affected groups, impact and the resolution thereof. 
  • Present routine reports to our stakeholders on EGP achievements and contributions to the local community

 

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain updated list of stakeholders and their disaggregation (group and subgroups etc - e.g. local communities, government agencies, local and district municipalities)
  • Develop and maintain a communications plan for stakeholder engagement and document all engagement activities 
  • Maintain complaints register and manage the resolution process 
  • Manage the Project Steering Committee formation process and their role as defined in the Term of reference of the PSC 
  • Keep communities informed about Procurement, Jobs, and funding (EnD and SED) opportunities available at EGP, facilitating advertising and dissemination of information on the right/designated platforms
  • Support communities to understand EGP processes (EOI, We-Buy, funding criteria etc), Partner Processes (Bursaries etc) and towards submission of the proposals/application and other to EGP
  • Monitor project implementation and collate stats on performance, and compile periodic reports for feedback both to the community and EGP
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, attend events and represent EGP where mandated and report/advise on the matters arising

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Must live in this Local Municipality and have no criminal record. 
  • Minimum National Senior Certificate (NSC), Valid South African ID, 
  • Preferably studies in Economics, Community Development, Business Administration, Sustainability and Renewable Energy or related fields will be advantageous 
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, local government, NGO's, local business forums and other stakeholders 
  • Some background in community development, community relations management, reporting and community development project management 
  • Some understanding of Enterprise Development and Socio- Economic Development projects
  • Willingness to travel frequently for community and project site visits 

 

 Other requirements 

  • Willingness to travel - Own Car & valid Driver’s licence (not compulsory)   
  • Have own computer with Microsoft Office with regular package (Emal, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Experience coordinating meetings and taking minutes 
  • Ability to coordinate meetings, inform agenda and compile reports 
  • Ability to work well under pressure 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Good people and communication skills
  • MS Office - Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to send & receive emails and other platforms like WhatsApp 
  • Preferably Multilingual 
  • Project management and report writing
